Which sea kayaking course?

We have sea kayaking courses to suit all levels of kayaker from complete beginer to the seasoned salty sea kayaker!  Our courses are generally intructional based and are aimed at developing your skills in a fun and safe environment.  Below is some information to help you choose the right course.

Introduction – No previous experience required. We look at skills to help you get to BCU UKCC 1-2* level.  Learn how to handle a sea kayak and take it on a journey as well as rescue skills.

Intromediate (improvers) - Some previous kayaking experience but not necessarily in Sea Kayaks. We help you work towards the BCU UKCC 1-2* level. You should be comfortable using a spray deck and happy with the basics ie turning and going in a straight line.

Intermediate – You should have experience in sea kayaks and journeying. Solid foundation of BCU UKCC 2* skills. We will work on Skills to get you towards the BCU UKCC 3* level. You dont have to know how to roll but that would help! We hope to take the skills you have learnt on flat water into a moving water environment.  We will work on handling the kayak in wind and waves as well as surf.

Advanced - You should have experience in conditions as an active member of a group. We will work on skills to help you get to the BCU UKCC4-5* Level. You should be able to roll in intermediate conditions.
