A bit
chilly!
25th March 2008 AM
Good morning, its a chilly one here -8 at the mo
but dropped to -26 last night, woke up and found a dromedry bag full
of water was solid ice, locals are saying its very unusual this time
of year to be so cold. Anyway we are having to bring our plans
forward with regards to finishing this part of the expedition due to
recent events at home, not sure how we are going to do this yet
logistically but looking to end this section either in Stavanger or
Bergen depending on news from home. Sad but necessary I'm afraid.
Planning with Mark as I speak with regards to our return date.

Posn: N58deg 06.038 E006deg 34.969 distance
covered as the crow flies 14.17 Nautical miles, actual 16 NM Left
Korshamn at 0920, very cold on departure maybe -5 degrees, had a
moderate headwind from the west all day which just served to drain
our energy, just as we approached Lister Fyr (lighthouse) got caught
in a strong squall, heavy sleet/snow 0 visibility, had us turning
back into shelter, off the water at 1500 hrs, joined local fisherman
in warm hut, they said we was crazy to be doing this for pleasure in
the winter (we thought it was spring) they reported this as the
coldest they've had it this winter, sort of matches Britain's weird
batch of weather I guess!! Anyway still smiling still happy, hoping
to be close to Stavanger in two days or so, not making as many miles
as we expected but quite happy with our progress considering
conditions as they are, and when they've been good the scenery is so
stunning at times we haven't felt like rushing on by:) Hippo
Piddling guys!!
