Course summary

Sea Kayaking Cornwall in association with the International Sea Kayak Guide Association (ISKGA) has developed a 6 week guide training programme. This programme is aimed at intermediate paddlers wishing to access the sea kayaking industry. At the end of the course you will have the experience and qualifications to run safe, enjoyable and informative journeys by sea kayak through a variety of environments and in a variety of conditions. The course will be based out of Falmouth using various locations in Cornwall to develop your guiding skills. You also have the opportunity to include a full set of guide kit with the course to make sure you are equipped ready for working in the industry. (SKC offer a 10% discount on all equipment purchased during the guide training programme)

Experience needed

Preferably the student will already hold a sea proficiency award (BCU 3*, EPP 3, ISKGA L3 certificate etc.) If you do not hold a sea proficiency award, you should be an intermediate paddler with good basic skills and a roll in flat water, an assessment can be run prior to the course being attended
